eTigris®|TWO.220 control & convenience for networked doors

eTouch Key & Touch Fob

eTigris®|TWO is a fully expandable, integrated access control solution that combines the physical security of a mechanical key system with the control and convenience of a networked electronic access system. The eTigris®|TWO family electronically controls between 1 and 3000 doors. When combined with the ability to also control mechanical cylinders the possibilities are virtually limitless.

Unlike many other access systems that rely on a central controller to take all of the decisions such as to allow or deny access, eTigris®|TWO provides peace of mind via full hardware redundancy. This feature ensures that all door controllers operate as mini PC’s working independently even if there is a problem with the main PC or the network.

eTigris®|TWO.220 supports up to 10,000 users and 128 networked doors and is therefore ideal for small to medium size systems. For larger projects, please contact our sales office for further assistance.

Designing a unified access system eTouch Key & Touch Fob

Using eTigris®|TWO, in combination with the UK's most specified masterkey system, Tigris®, provides a unique opportunity to use the benefits of both electronic and mechanical systems, targeted to where they are most appropriate.

  • Utilises electronic and mechanical access as components of a single unified system
  • Deploy electronic access control only for the most sensitive doors, such as perimeter or entrance into a zone
  • Use a mechanical masterkey system for doors within the perimeter or zone
  • Plan the system using a single 'document' that clearly identifies which doors are mechanically or electronically controlled and co-ordinate each user's access rights
  • For the electronically controlled doors utilise time features to define at what times and which days the user shall have access
  • Make life easier for the user by integrating mechanical and electronic access into a single credential - The eTouch key

One project, one system, all balanced

eTigris TWO integrated access control system

Harmonising the needs of the building and the user

In a traditional access control solution the mechanical masterkey system and any electronic systems are created in isolation. Not only are the systems divorced but they are most likely to be originated by different companies. Quite often the two systems become disjointed with the system administrator feeling that they are not fully in control.

With eTigris®|TWO, we can design your system as a single entity, where the needs of the user and the building are balanced and the administrator has full control of both electronic and mechanical systems.

A Universal design, accessible to all eTigris DDA readers

The eTigris®|TWO accessible control system has been designed to contribute to satisfying the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA):2005. In reality, these features benefit all users by providing; easy to handle fob or integrated key/fob, large area high brightness unambiguous visual signals, interchangeable end caps to make the readers 'stand out' against their background etc.

System Design Flexibility

eTouch upgrade kitsIn any system it is expected that there will be individuals who will require access to electronically controlled doors, for example on main entrances, yet not require access to mechanically secured doors (and vice versa). It is also expected that certain individuals would require access to both.

The eTigris®|TWO system caters for these varying needs, providing any combination of mechanical and electronic credential. As situations change over time; employees leave/join or move departments, the credential can be modified by the user.

Performance by design

Electronic Access eTouch upgrade kits

The eTigris®|TWO is an electronic access control device which uses RFID technology to control access authority to any conventional type of electronic locking mechanism (i.e. electromagnet, electric strike, solenoid bolt for example).

The transmitter is located within the eTouch fob/key.

The optional eButton device makes life easier for those users who would benefit from long range activation of the electronically controlled doors or other electrical device. The range exceeds 10 metres and is typically used by those people who use a wheelchair or when control is required for security gates operated from a vehicle for example.

Mechanical Access

The eTouch key consolidates mechanical and electronic security into one easy to use device. All Tigris® Premier and Omega mechanical keys can be incorporated within this eTouch device.

Designed to be accessible to all

The eTigris®|TWO accessible control system has been designed for ease of use, particularly users with impaired abilities - but the features benefit all users. eTigris DDA readers

  • Easy location with high brightness, large area LEDs
  • Large area, unambiguous visual signals - green smile, your credential is accepted; red frown, access denied
  • User adjustable audible signals
  • Easy to handle fob or integrated key and fob
  • Meets the requirement of BS8300:2009 that red and green indicators should only be used with clarification by text or pictogram
  • Interchangeable end caps for colour contrast meets the colour contrast requirements of Part M of the Building Regulations and BS8300:2009 Design of buildings and their approaches to meet the needs of disabled people

Flexibility to suit any situation

The eButton transmitter eTigris ebutton long range transmitter

This optional dual function device operates as an eTouch fob but by depressing the large yellow button also provides activation of the reader at distances up to 10m+ via radio frequency (RF). This is particularly useful for people in wheelchairs or other wheeled mobility devices so that doors can be activated as the user approaches.

The smaller secondary button can be used to activate other third party devices such as a low energy operator, security lights or vehicle barrier.

Where an electronic gate or barrier exists the eButton transmitter can be operated from a vehicle for example and the inbuilt chip allows the transmitter to double up as a eTouch fob thus providing access to the conventional electronic doors.

Designed for internal and vandal resistant applications eTigris vandal resistant access control system

The eTigris®|TWO reader has been designed with good looks as an integral part of the package to suit even the most prestigious architectural projects. The reader is designed for internal and sheltered external applications. However, for exposed external positions, or for areas which may be susceptible to vandalism or misuse, a grade 304 satin stainless steel housing is available. The unit is available in flush or surface mounted options and does not affect the reading range of the eTouch Fob/Key or eButton transmitter.

Networked systems - benefits

eTigris network access control system

* For larger projects please contact our sales office for further details.

Networked or stand alone?

Access control systems function in 2 primary modes, either 'Stand-Alone', where each reader/door is isolated or self contained and 'Networked' in which case the readers/doors are connected via a network cable and controlled from a PC.

Why use a networked system?

The networked eTigris®|TWO electronic access control system uses comprehensive WindowsTM based management software. The combination of the management software and the eTigris®|TWO hardware provides absolute control of the following:

  • Who has access to which doors?
  • What times of day and days of the week do these individuals have access?
  • What days are holidays (bank holidays) and who should have access on these days?
  • Should doors automatically unlock at certain peak times, e.g. mornings or lunchtime?
  • Should doors automatically unlock by, for example, the first credential of the day and remain unlocked until locked again by credential or automatically at a certain time?
  • Option of auto unlock in a fire alarm situation
  • Option of Fire Rollcall and the monitoring of attendance and timekeeping

eTigris®|TWO is easy to maintain and administer. Any changes made to the way in which the system operates (for example, changes to an individual user or group of users' access rights) are made in real time so that once the parameters have been amended they come into force immediately without having to recall or reissue credentials.

For all stand-alone applications please refer to the eTigris®|ONE section.

Reporting and monitoring events

The system provides two types of report: - Real Time Alerts and Events Reports

Real Time Alerts

These are alerts sent back to the PC for immediate action and notify the administrator of potential security issues. They require an acknowledgement at the PC.

The Real Time Alert facility may require additional hardware items and if required you should advise your system supplier.

Typical examples of Real Time Alerts are:

  • Door has been open for too long. Usually a sign that the door has been wedged open or could be a symptom that a fire breakglass has been activated to exit the door. The system will alert you that the door is unlocked and will remain unlocked until the cause has been rectified
  • Forced entry indicating the door has been opened without using a credential. This is usually a sign of an actual or attempted 'break-in'
  • Tamper alert generated by the anti tamper switch on the controller

Events Reports

The system provides a comprehensive range of reports which allow you to analyse historic events. These reports are designed to assist with the day to day management of a building and its occupants, particularly in the areas of security, safety, human resources and maintenance. All the reports can be viewed on screen and printed, and most can export data for use in a spreadsheet for example.

Please note that some reports indicated below with **, will require the use of a reader on both sides of the door thus providing a read in/read out (anti pass-back) configuration.

Typically, reports can be filtered by date, door or tagholder.
