Technical Alert: The field strength and range of an eButton transmitter is largely dependent upon the building structure and environment. When activated, the eButton transmits a UHF signal that is multi directional and therefore will activate all compatible receivers within its range. The user of the eButton transmitter may therefore unintentionally activate multiple openings. To avoid this, UHF receivers should be located a minimum distance of 150m apart. Doors fitted with access control that cross a fire route or are classed as a fire exit should integrate to the fire alarm system so when activated fail in the open or unlocked state. Please refer to the Access Control Design Guide or consult your local fire officer and building control officer.
